Biography

Richard Lonsdorf has been Associate Director of Artistic Planning at the San Francisco Symphony since 2013, where he oversees concert programming for the new SoundBox series, Film Series, summer and holiday seasons, and more. Previously, he worked in the New York Philharmonic’s Artistic Planning office, where he oversaw the CONTACT! new music series and produced projects such as Stockhausen’s Gruppen at the Park Avenue Armory, and an Emmy-nominated production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel. A graduate of Harvard University, Lonsdorf has spent ten years championing unconventional solutions in entertainment and the performing arts.
